With Netflix, there’s something to watch for everyone. And with so many choices, it can all be a little overwhelming.
Have no fear though, as I’ve sifted through tons of African American films to bring you some of the best. 🙂
There is a wide selection of films which a black cast, with more of these films being added all the time. But these 6 make the cut as my favorite Netflix has to offer (at the time of writing). These are in no particular order, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy at least a few. 🙂
Note: Depending on your region, you may or may not be able to get some of these films. If one doesn’t work for you, simply try the next one. Also, check this list if you’re looking for some good black romantic comedies.
Africa is a wonderful continent that’s often overlooked as a place to take your next vacation. Many instead opt to take a Caribbean vacation. Unfortunately, there’s a common belief that Africa is plagued by diseases, famine, war and poverty. In reality though, this is not entirely true.
There are some amazing countries in Africa that will do wonders for broadening your horizons and adding some wonderful snaps to your travel diary. Today we’re going to show you some of these countries.
Who said that only men can get some muscle! These black female body builders prove that notion to be wrong. As a matter of fact, they are generally much stronger than most men out there.
When it comes to TV in general, it seems as though black women have consistently been underrepresented or misrepresented. Although room for improvement remains, sisters are becoming more visible in TV. I don’t mean in roles as supporting actresses or extras, either. I’m talking about black women appearing as lead actresses in some pretty popular shows. We’ve compiled a list of TV shows featuring black women that are changing the game. Check them out below!
Solo traveling has become one of the most liberating things I’ve ever experienced. At first, I was absolutely terrified to go out into the world. I wasn’t scared because I would be going alone. I wasn’t scared because I am a woman. I was scared because I wasn’t sure how people in different parts of the world would receive me as a Black woman. I didn’t always intend to travel solo, but then I realized that it was a matter of going alone or not going at all.
Imagine you want to use your vacation time and go on a group trip with your friends. You gather them, get a head count, and discuss destinations. Caribbean vacay, anyone? The trip is months away but everyone is so excited and counting down the days! And then, when the trip is just weeks away, everyone starts to cancel. You still want to go but no one else is willing or able to. So you cancel, too.
It seems nowadays that a lot of the people who stand in to become a role model for young people are those that are in the public eye. While there are many black public figures that we can look up as role models, they shouldn’t be the only ones that the younger generations rely on for this position.
Everyday people have just as much to offer in the same position, especially in the case of young black women. So how does one become a role model? A superhero of sorts to be looked up to? Well, it’s a lot simpler than you think.
Obviously the best place in the world to get Jamaican food is in Jamaica itself. Unfortunately though, it’s not always possible to take a quick trip over there to get an authentic Caribbean meal.

My sisters, please share this guide with all men you meet! It’s time for them to realize we are not unapproachable and are as open to talking to people as much as women of any other race. 🙂
Men, today we are going to look at how to talk to a black girl you like. I know from experience there are guys out there who fancy black women but don’t feel they are able to tell them how they feel. This could be for a number of reasons, many of which shouldn’t hold you back from pursuing the person you like.
