As a comedian, talk show host, and actress, you’ve seen her in shows like Ghost Whisperer and Criminal Minds.
The actress has also appeared in CSI and Friends.
Her illustrious career also includes movies, TV, hosting a podcast, and directing.
While this beauty has an amazing career, she has the brains too!
She was accepted to Dartmouth College, one of the most challenging colleges in the country where she graduated in 2012.
Does an artist like Alicia Keys need an introduction?
The artist has had numerous hits including 5 Grammy Awards.
Some of her most-known songs include “Fallin’,” “You Don’t Know My Name,” and “No One.”
Even with 5 Grammy Awards under her belt, that’s not all for the singer.
She has 17 NAACP Image Awards and is one of the best-selling artists in the United States.
While she might’ve dropped out of college, that means nothing when you consider the fact that this beauty graduated from high school early and as her high school’s valedictorian.
She was accepted to Columbia University, one of the top Ivy League schools in the country.
When black people talk about not cracking, we’re most likely talking about Angela Bassett.
At 61 years old, this woman is beauty and brains.
Angela Bassett has been a staple in Hollywood for decades.
She’s starred in film favorites like What’s Love Got to Do With It and How Stella Got Her Groove Back.
We’ve also seen her in a slew of black classics like Notorious, Malcolm X, and Boyz n the Hood.
If it’s a movie we’re loving for the culture, Angela is there!
You know where else she was?
Not only does she have her BA from the university, but she also has Masters as well.
With someone like Angela Rye, she leads with her brains!
Just look at her degrees.
She received her BA from the University of Washington before getting her law degree from Seattle University.
After that, Angela Rye would go on to become a voice on major news platforms like CNN and NPR.
Angela is quick to share her opinion and let’s just say, she’s definitely not a fan of 45.
Anika Noni Rose
When Disney finally gave us our first black princess, we rejoiced!
Princess Tiana from Princess and the Frog was voiced by none other than Anika Noni Rose.
And that’s not all she’s done.
You might recognize her from Dreamgirls.
She’s even been on Broadway in the show Caroline, or Change and won a Tony Award for it.
With that being said, this beauty has two degrees.
While she received her BA from Florida A&M University, she would go on to get her Masters at the American Conservatory Theater.
Ava DuVernay seems to be a relatively new name to Hollywood.
We can definitely agree that’s she’s already made a lasting impact.
The wisdom that this filmmaker puts behind her work is unparalleled.
It can easily be seen through her works.
DuVernay is behind classics like Selma, 13th, and When They See Us.
Beyonce might be the biggest name in the entertainment industry right now and super sexy to boot.
While she doesn’t have any formal education past high school, no one can refute the business mind behind this entertainer.
What started out as a lead position in the group Destiny’s Child would grow to both a singing and acting career.
One of the best-selling artists of all time, Beyonce has numerous accolades that include Grammy Awards, Billboard Awards, and NAACP Awards.
If you’re a fan of Tyler Perry, you definitely know Cassi Davis.
The singer/actress has appeared in both House of Payne and The Paynes.
She has appeared in a number of other films and TV shows including School Daze and the Nickelodeon sitcom Kenan & Kel.
Davis attended the popular HBCU Spelman College.
While she originally left just shy of graduating, she returned years later and graduated with her degree in 2008.
Many people have strong opinions about Condoleezza Rice, but one thing that can’t be refuted is that this woman is smart!
The former Democrat turned Republican originally got her bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver.
She would go on to get her master’s degree from the prestigious University of Notre Dame before getting her PhD.
She politician would go on to be a National Security Advisor and the US Secretary of State under George W. Bush.

While she is known as an actress, you probably didn’t know that she is also a playwright with a Tony nomination under her belt.
With an amazing screen presence, her acting career is preceded by a degree from Macalester College and later, a master’s degree from New York University.
When you think of the world’s greatest dancers, Debbie Allen is going to come to mind.
I mean, where would we be without Fame?
While many know her as a dancer, you might’ve seen her acting on Grey’s Anatomy.
The dancer/actress had a number of awards as well, many coming from Fame, including an Emmy for Oustanding Choreography and a Golden Globe for Best Actress.
Allen is another celebrity who went to the HBCU favorite -Howard University.

The actress attended UCLA and graduated with a degree in sociology, and she’s widely know by men as one of the sexiest African American women around.
While you might’ve originally known her as Oprah’s best friend, Gayle King has made a name for herself!
